How IIFA Prevented An AIB Encore
Ranveer and Arjun suggested East India Comedy in place of AIB who were to script the event initially
The recently concluded IIFA Awards had Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor hosting. And they were pretty hilarious. Now we know that actors can’t really say much if there is no script involved and of course, there was one for the awards night.
The script was written by members of the comedy group, East India Comedy.
But now SpotboyE.com has learnt some shocking news! And we mean, sit-down-and-take-a-deep-breath shocking.
The original choice for the scriptwriters were none other than AIB, the very same comedy crew that roasted Ranveer and Arjun a few months ago.
And we all know what happened after that.
Ranveer and Arjun got major flak, with cases also being filed against them.
Not just that, SpotboyE.com had told you how Salman Khan had even threatened AIBs Tanmay Bhatt for making jokes about his family member. The star was so miffed with Karan Johar for being a part of the roast that he even opted out of Shuddhi .
The other Khan Aamir too made his displeasure clear about the roast (Aamir knocks out Karan, Arjun, Ranveer for AIB,February 10).
IIFA officials obviously didnt want a repeat of the roast. So they nixed AIBs contract.
Ranveer and Arjun readily agreed to switch scriptwriters and even suggested East India Comedy!
But the irony of all this is that the IIFA promo referred to Ranveer and Arjuns ‘internet kaand and even while hosting the event, the two made jokes about how when they try their hand at comedy FIRs are lodged against them.
The losing party here clearly is AIB. Where do they go from here? Your guess is as good as ours.
